Taking audiences by storm, Saltlines is Raynor’s prose and music collaboration with Gigspanner Big Band – the folk-roots supergroup, featuring some of the most celebrated names on the British folk scene.

Together they have created an emotional odyssey, exploring the landscape, music and heritage of the South West Coast Path.

The South West is the backdrop to The Salt Path, Ray’s memoir of love, loss and rediscovery, but it was inevitable that such a well-trodden path would hold many more tales of life and existence at the edge of the land. Saltlines captures those stories, in new prose from Ray and old songs collected from historic sources around the coast then reimagined by the band to create an collaboration like no other.

To experience Saltlines is to leave the theatre changed, windswept, salted.

Having enjoyed a debut tour around the route of the South West Coast Path during the summer of 2022, Saltlines went from strength to strength, touring sold-out theatres the length and breadth of the country.

The summer of 2025 will see Saltlines final tour, as they sadly pack the show away to make way for a new, excitingly powerful new production to be announced very soon!

Following the success of Saltlines, there has been huge call for the lyrics and prose from the show. So the Band’s incredible agent, Deborah Knight, has designed just that -  Saltlines: the Journal is finally here – a beautiful, full colour journal holding all the prose Ray wrote for the show, the song lyrics, stunning photographs from the many tours, backstage with the musicians and of course the landscape that inspired the show - The South West Coast Path. A wonderfully atmospheric collection of work - a joy to own, even if you never see the show.
